The Avett Brothers are a folk-rock band from Concord, NC founded in the early ‘00s. Comprised of brothers Scott and Seth Avett on banjo and guitar respectively, stand-up bassist Bob Crawford and cellist Joe Kown, The Avett Brothers combine bluegrass, country, pop, folk, rock ‘n’ roll, honky tonk and ragtime into their unique sound and unrivaled live performances. With the release of their latest studio album, October 2009’s, I and Love and You, (produced by legendary rock producer and co-founder of Def Jam Records, Rick Rubin), The Avett Brothers have entered a new level of live performance and musicianship, with Paste Magazine calling I and Love and You the Best Album of 2009.
